ARDEX TLT™ DRAIN KITS
Drain Kits for Shower Systems
- SAE 304 stainless steel
- Higher corrosion resistance than regular steel
- Electroplating
ARDEX TLT™ Drain Kits utilize SAE 304 stainless steel which is the most common stainless steel. This steel contains both chromium (between 15% and 20%) and nickel (between 2% and 10.5%) metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel, meaning it is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel, and also is essentially non-magnetic. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes.
Electroplating, also called electrodeposition, is a method of plating steel that can be likened to operating a battery in reverse. Rather than freeing electrons to create current, as a battery does, electroplating binds the extra electrons on the surface of an ionic metal with an anode. The anode is the positively charged metal in solution, which produces a non-ionic film on the steel. This method is used to plate stainless steel with various colors for a finished product combining the strength of steel with aesthetically pleasing colors
to coordinate with shower fixtures.
Drain Kit components include:
- 1 Drain grate
- 1 Adjustable drain adapter
- 1 Connectite® assembly and instructions
